How To Replace The Water Union with Quick Change Activator

In this video we will show you how to change out the water union with the upgraded drawbar activator that is standard on Titan 4K models and available to upgrade on Titan 3K and 2K models.

Tools List

  • Crowsfoot Torque Wrench
  • Metaflux Gleitmetall – Park Industries PN# 3400037
  • Rotary Union Wrench
  • Shop Towels
  • 15/16″ Wrench

Press the e-stop, shut off air and water at the main source.

Unhook the water lines from the water union.

Immobilize the spindle with the rotary union wrench, then unseat the water union with a 15/16″ wrench.

Unscrew the water union.

Clean the drawbar threads.

Install fittings on new water union.

Spray Metaflux on the threads.

Tighten the water union to 25 ft lbs with a Crowsfoot torque wrench and the 15/16 wrench.

Set the dial indicator on the water union and manually turn the spindle. Runout (i.e. slack) should be no more than .003.

Reattach the water lines to the fittings.

Turn on air and water, verify there are no leaks.
